It's the Fourth of May - Star Warps Day again!
Incredible to think that it was only fifty years ago today that I stood queued outside the Oamaru Majestic Theatre to see Star Warps the Movie(tm) and its EXPLOSIVE end:
Star Warps. It made me the man I am today.
It is incredible Pete, and to think that you were there at the time and are able to help us celebrate the remembering is a wonder.
ReplyDeleteThe Oamaru coastal wind blowing across the expectant queue of patrons outside ( both of them )....the sluck of the carpet as we walked to the sweet counter, the anticipation as the entrance ticket was ripped in half and we began the climb upstairs!
At half time we got the local kids birthday messages, a choc top and some ads for a video store.
We stayed and watched all of the credits at the end because we argued about the Han Solo character. I was wrong. It wasn’t George Clooney.
Love the memory. Happy Star Warp day.

Ah yes, the wind. You remember it so much better than I. For years I was sure Cookie Monster was in it. And they flew a toaster.
ReplyDeleteI do like my version still. They should redo it.
